Ways to Give

Tribute Program

Honor or commemorate someone for years to come and help perpetuate Deborah's altruistic philosophy "There is no price on life" by purchasing one of Deborah's everlasting tributes. Donors can commemorate a special occasion, honor loved ones and remember family members or friends. We have several different types of tributes for you to choose from.

When you make a donation to Deborah Hospital Foundation, the person or family you are honoring is notified of your thoughtful gift. The amount of your gift is confidential and is only visible on your receipt. Contact the Susan Samuels at 1-800-388-0380 if you have any questions regarding our tributes.

Major Gifts

Love continues to grow in the Atrium of Love
through the generosity of
The Greenstein Family

Contributions from grateful patients, area residents and generous philanthropists enhance and expand vital projects, programs and services her at Deborah. Each gift is deeply appreciated and helps our physicians, nurses and staff live out our mission of providing the highest quality inpatient and outpatient services for the diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung and vascular disease.

Gifts of cash, check or credit card are the easiest and most direct way to benefit the Deborah Hospital Foundation, and are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Gift of personal property and matured life insurance policies are also gratefully accepted.

You can personalize your philanthropy through Deborah's Directed Gift Opportunities Program which lets you choose whether you want your gift to support general operations of the hospital or be directed to a specific department or program.

Please contact Tom Drotar, Major Gifts Officer via e-mail at 1-800-388-0380 or you can email him at tdrotar@deboahfoundation.org for more information about making a major gift of $5,000 or more and inquire about naming opportunities.

The IRA Rollover - An Easy Gift Option

For the past few years, Congress has waited until the end of the year to pass a bill allowing individuals who are 70 1/2 or older to make charitable contributions directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) or Roth IRA. For many of our donors who qualify for this rollover, the decision has come too late in the year for them to act. However, thanks to new legislation passed in December 2015, the IRA rollover gift option has become permanent. For more information please contact Ellen Krivchenia  at 800-893-0380 or you can email her at (ekrivchenia@deborahfoundation.org).

Below is a list of some of the Planned Giving options that Deborah offers:

Unlock your full charitable capability. Make effective use of Planned Giving techniques to help achieve your lifetime financial goals, provide for wealth transfer, do your estate planning, and fulfill your philanthropic goals. Consult your legal or financial advisors before taking any action.

Bequests/Living Trusts

Contrary to popular belief you do not need to be a millionaire to leave a bequest to a charitable organization.

Emory Turnure receives a Heritage Circle pin at the Foundation’s Annual Donor Recognition Luncheon
for including the Foundation as
a beneficiary in his Will.

There are many avenues for including a charity near and dear to your heart in your will or trust. It just takes a simple designation in your will or living trust, and will not affect your cash flow during your lifetime. It's easy to modify if your situation changes. Call us for sample bequest clauses or to speak with a staff member about your individual objectives.

Charitable Gift Annuities

Charitable Gift Annuities are a combination of a gift to Deborah and a fixed, quarterly, lifetime income to you. Your income payments may be much higher than on low-earning securities or CDs. The older you are, the higher your rate of return. You can choose one or two beneficiaries. Call for a personalized illustration.

Various types of trusts are designed to convert large, highly-appreciated assets into a lifetime income stream without generating estate taxes and capital gains taxes on the transfer and sale of the appreciated assets. Ask your advisor about how a trust may benefit both you and Deborah.

Deborah Hospital Foundation’s annual revenues reflect gifts of all levels from corporations and foundations across the country. The trend of major corporations today encourages their employees to recommend their favorite charities for outright gifts. Corporate philanthropy not only provides funding for Deborah, but also enhances the company’s image in their community.

Deborah fits into the funding guidelines and interests of many foundations .Whether public, private, corporate or family foundations, they are all mandated by the Internal Revenue Service to donate a percentage of the foundation’s assets (earned income) to approved 501(c)3 organizations.

Many naming opportunities are available at various funding levels related to supporting a specific program, state-of-the-art equipment, or naming of a particular area or department. Please contact a member of our staff for more specific information and to arrange for a tour of the hospital.

For more information regarding how you can provide or obtain corporate or foundation support, please call Carla Tisdale-Walker, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at 1-800-388-0380 or email her at ctisdale-walker@deborahfoundation.org.
