The New York/New England Region
The New York/New England Region of Deborah Hospital Foundation has an army of dedicated volunteers. They bring a commitment to a grass roots organization with much dedication and pride. They are very diversified in implementing fundraisers that support Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
Our volunteers are broken up into numerous local Chapters throughout our region. Chapter members meet monthly where they are able to socialize and discuss their fundraising campaigns. Along with each chapter’s individual happenings, there is an opportunity to partake in regional events.
Regional Membership is another way to participate. This will give you the opportunity to help become part of the Deborah family without the commitment to monthly meetings. It will enable you to join in our Regional Events, or create your own fundraiser for us.
We are looking for you!! If you want to join a local chapter or would like to start a new chapter, please contact the New York office at: (718) 845-4441 or (877) 205-9966 or e-mail us at dhfny@deborahfoundation.org

Deborah A Family Tradition for the Generations

Deborah Hospital Foundation’s Bay Ridge Chapter is thriving and well, enjoying the experience and wisdom of long-time members, as well as the youth and vitality of a new generation of members. The example set by the Windsor family members shines a light for future generations who are starting the journey down the Deborah road.
Laurie Windsor was like many moms, -active and engaged in her favorite charity Deborah. Laurie brought her kids along to one fundraising function after another. And like most helpful kids, they immediately pitched in and helped out at card parties and gift auctions. Finally, they wanted to know why they weren’t members themselves. So…the rest is history.
Nine-year old Andrew, seven-year old Lauren, four-year old Matthew, along with dad Andrew Sr., are all officially pinned Bay Ridge Chapter members. They attend Chapter meetings, regional Presidents’ meetings, and luncheons and dinners held throughout the year. As members they cheerfully and dutifully work hard to raise money for Deborah. They carry in prizes and help set them up, serve as “runners” delivering prizes to the winners, and volunteer at the regional duck races.
In addition, the trio has participated in the regional run/walk in the youth dash, as well as helping out at registration and soliciting sponsors. Andrew is even planning ahead, suggesting that next year local schools be invited. As well, he recently convinced his school to donate $140 through the Penny Harvest-Common Cents Campaign.
“We are so proud of this family and these kids,” said New York Regional Director Mickey Alvino. “When you hear about how some children are really off-track today, I say just look at these three. There are good kids everywhere and we at Deborah are blessed to have them working with us."
