The Florida/Puerto Rico Region
The Florida/Puerto Rico Regional office supports the mission of the Foundation by dedicating our efforts to raise funds for the Deborah Heart and Lung Center. In this endeavor, we cover the following areas. We oversee the activities of 21 chapters of volunteers located throughout the state of Florida and Puerto Rico, providing support and materials. The Foundation also offers an innovative independent membership program for individuals who choose not to affiliate with a chapter.

During the recent Heritage Circle Luncheon in Florida, Jay Hadley (far left), Chief Operating Officer for Deborah Hospital Foundation, presented a plaque to the trustees of The Kathleen K. Catlin Trust in recognition of their most recent gift of $125,000 which was the lead gift for the Physiological Monitoring System for Deborah’s Adult Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Accepting on behalf of the trustees of the trust is Wendy Hopkins, Vice President of Grant & Program Services, The Community Foundation of Sarasota County. Also pictured (left to right) are Fred Lugar and Patricia Pedrero, Trustees for the Catlin Trust; and Anne Couzens, Planned and Major Gifts Officer, Deborah Hospital Foundation.

Contact our office to locate a chapter near you, or for more information on our independent membership program. Deborah Hospital Foundation offers many opportunities to memorialize or honor individuals. Donations are receipted, and a beautiful letter is sent to the family. Permanent recognition is available through Chapel and Hall of Honor Plaques, Tree of Life, and the signature plaque the Deborah Way of Life. Information and forms are available through the Regional Office.

Deborah is rich in history and is world-renowned for humanitarianism. Speakers are available for community groups or organizations. Many diverse special events are held throughout the year, including luncheons, golf tournaments, and raffles. Patients seeking evaluation or treatment at Deborah should contact the Regional Office to obtain an application and release forms.

On March 8, 2007 the Florida/Puerto Region hosted their Children of the World Luncheon at the Marriott Hotel, Heron Bay, in Coral Springs, Florida. The 166 guests were honored to have John Ernst, President and CEO of Deborah Heart and Lung Center/Deborah Hospital Foundation and Jay Hadley, Chief Operating Officer of Deborah Hospital Foundation, join in the festivities.
