John R. Ernst is the President and CEO of DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center and DEBORAH Hospital Foundation, a position he was elected to by DEBORAH’s Board of Directors in April 2005. As President and CEO, Ernst’s responsibilities include managing the overall operations and future direction of the 161-bed specialty teaching hospital, as well as overseeing the diverse fundraising activities of its supporting Foundation.

Mr. Ernst began his DEBORAH career in 1970 as a Comptroller, during which time he established the Accounting Department in compliance with American Hospital Association and Medicare requirements. In 1976, he was appointed Assistant Administrator and reported to the Vice President of Administration. In 1984, he moved on to the position of Associate Administrator, where he was responsible for all hospital operations in the absence of the Vice President of Administration. In 1988, Ernst was promoted to Executive Director of DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center, a position he successfully performed until his appointment as President and CEO in 2005.

Mr. Ernst received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1972 from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. He then went on to graduate studies in hospital law and hospital administration at Temple.

His professional memberships are extensive, including: New Jersey Hospital Association; American Hospital Association; Hospital Administrators Forum of New Jersey; Healthcare Financial Management Association; National Association of Accountants and the Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. “I have had an extensive and diverse career at DEBORAH, which has allowed me to gain an in-depth understanding of the healthcare industry, as well as the individual needs of DEBORAH’s patients, staff, donors and volunteers,” said Ernst. “There are tremendous challenges on the horizon for those who are devoted to the quality of, and access to, the healthcare that DEBORAH provides, and I have every intention of applying those experiences to help guide DEBORAH moving forward.”

CLAIRE K. MOLOTSKY
Chairman to the Board,
DEBORAH Hospital Foundation and DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center

A volunteer for DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Pennsylvania Region for over 25 years, Ms. Molotsky is a Life Member and Past President of the Delaware Valley (PA) and Pacesetters (PA) Chapters. She serves as Secretary to the Executive Board of DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center, as well as the Board of Directors of DEBORAH Hospital Foundation.

Ms. Molotsky was a Founder of the Lower Makefield Township Community Pool and served as its first Chairperson. She has been involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the National Multiple Sclerosis and New Zealand Multiple Sclerosis Societies, and served on the Makefield Glen and Cedar Hollow condominium boards.Ms. Molotsky is a self-employed Medical Insurance Counselor. She speaks to groups on medical insurance reimbursement and programs and has participated in health fairs, dispensing information relative to the medical insurance reimbursement field. Ms. Molotsky was first appointed to the Board in 1996.“DEBORAH faces numerous challenges in this country’s current healthcare climate, including efforts of local hospitals to establish cardiac surgery programs, and the rise in cost of providing care coupled with the decline in reimbursement from Medicare and other third-party payors,” stated Ms. Molotsky. “However, as a Board Member, I aim to use my knowledge and experience to help DEBORAH meet these challenges.”

JAY S. HADLEY
Chief Operating Officer,
DEBORAH Hospital Foundation

Jay S. Hadley is the Chief Operating Officer of the Deborah Hospital Foundation. His responsibilities include directing all of the fund raising operations of the Foundation.

Mr. Hadley spent 20 years as a United Way professional serving as the President and CEO of local United Ways in Chester, Pennsylvania. Rockford, Illinois and Grand Rapids, Michigan. After leaving the United Way Mr. Hadley served as the Capital Campaign Director for the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. where he worked with campaign chairman Senator Robert Dole and co-chairman Fred Smith, CEO of FedEx.  After the World War II Memorial campaign Mr. Hadley was appointed the Vice President of Marketing and Development for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. Most Recently Mr. Hadley served as the Vice President of Development at Cooper University Hospital.

Mr. Hadley is a graduate of Muhlenberg College and a graduate of the Wharton School Executive Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania. His past and present volunteer activities include serving on the boards of the Northern Illinois Arts Council, the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, the Dream Foundation Mid Atlantic Advisory Council, the American Red Cross Camden County Chapter and the Homeport Alliance for the Battleship New Jersey.

LEILA N. BERKOWITZ
Vice President, Florida Region,
DEBORAH Hospital Foundation Director (Retired), New York/New England Region, DEBORAH Hospital Foundation

Leila N. Berkowitz is the Vice President of DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Florida Region and the retired Director of the New York/New England Region. She is a member of the Sylvia Martin Chapter and the DEBORAH League of Staten Island (both NY/NE), as well as the Plantation Chapter (FL).Ms. Berkowitz has two children and seven grandsons, and she resides in North Lauderdale, FL. Ms. Berkowitz was first elected to DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors in 1996.

“DEBORAH Hospital Foundation faces the monumental challenge of increasing volunteer support in a time when volunteerism is declining. Senior Administrative Law Judge, City of New York, NY

The Honorable Raymond La Scala is a Senior Administrative Law Judge for the City of New York, NY. He serves as Vice President of DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s New York/New England Region, and is a member of the Region’s Fresh Meadows Chapter. Judge La Scala resides in Flushing, NY.Judge La Scala was instrumental in initiating the Self-Insurance and Risk Management Program for DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center and DEBORAH Hospital Foundation, which, in the last 17 years, has saved DEBORAH double-digit millions for premiums that would have been expended for insurance coverage.Judge La Scala was first elected to the Foundation’s Board in 1986.

ROBERT M. BIRNBAUM
National Bank Examiner, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency

Robert M. Birnbaum is a National Bank Examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, United States Department of Treasury.Mr. Birnbaum is Vice President of the New Jersey Region, as well as a Life Member of both the Clifton (NJ) and Point Pleasant (NJ) Chapters. He has a long and impressive history with DEBORAH, working as an active volunteer, serving as the Clifton Chapter’s Treasurer, and chairing various fundraising activities benefiting DEBORAH. He began his affiliation with DEBORAH in 1968 at the age of four, when he had cardiac catheterization at the Center, and has been a dedicated volunteer most of his life.Mr. Birnbaum received his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Rutgers University – NCAS in 1986. In addition to his DEBORAH activities, he is a member of various professional, social and civic organizations, including the Institute of Certified Bankers, Bank Administration Institute and the Human Rights Campaign. He also serves as president and trustee of the Robert M. Birnbaum Charitable Foundation.

Mr. Birnbaum resides in Passaic and Belmar, NJ.Mr. Birnbaum was first appointed to DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors in 1998.“As a professional with an accounting and banking background and a longtime DEBORAH volunteer, I can benefit DEBORAH by seeking out new fundraising opportunities and helping DEBORAH to remain cost-conscious in times of managed care cutbacks,” stated Mr. Birnbaum. “Personally, I came to DEBORAH at age four as a patient, with the possibility of facing open heart surgery. While I never had the surgery, I continue with follow-up visits. I am honored to be affiliated with DEBORAH - I feel my service on the Board of Directors is one way of giving back to DEBORAH for the care I’ve received for more than 30 years.”
JOSEPH D'ARCO

Joseph D’Arco is the Retired Deputy Fire Chief/Administrative Officer of the Clifton Fire Department, Clifton, NJ. Mr. D’Arco served in the ranks of the Fire Department from 1961 until his retirement in 1995. In this position, Mr. D’Arco assisted in the preparation and administration of the Department’s annual budget (in excess of $10 million) and directly supervised 144 emergency medical technicians, including training and state certification. He also served as the Fire Department’s Public Information Officer for Fire Prevention and Media Awareness.Mr. D’Arco is a longtime DEBORAH supporter and volunteer, serving as First Vice President, Donor Credits Chairman, Publicity Chairman and Golf Tournament and Bingo Volunteer for the Stuart Sunshine (FL) Chapter. Both of Mr. D’Arco’s parents were DEBORAH volunteers and instilled their dedication in him.During his service to the Clifton Fire Department, Mr. D’Arco was an Adjunct Professor of Fire Science at Passaic Community College, Paterson, NJ and an Instructor at the Passaic County Fire Academy. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Fire Science from Jersey City State College, Jersey City, NJ, and served two years in the United States Army before being honorably discharged.

During his tenure as Deputy Chief, Mr. D’Arco was recognized for obtaining donations from three area hospitals to obtain the Clifton Fire Department’s first defibrillation unit. He also received numerous awards, including the Fireman of the Year Award from the Clifton Jaycees.Since his retirement, Mr. D’Arco has remained an active supporter of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Mutual Benevolent Association, where he is a life member, as well as the Clifton Firemen’s Mutual Benevolent Association, with which he has been involved for more than 30 years.Mr. D’Arco was first appointed to DEBORAH Hospital Foundation Board of Directors in 2002.“As the preeminent heart and lung facility in New Jersey, DEBORAH has always had a special place in my family, which has a long history of service to DEBORAH Hospital Foundation,” said Mr. D’Arco. “DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center has established a long and distinguished record of treatment and service to its patients and community. PAUL J. De MASSI
President and CEO, Paul J. De Massi, AIA and Associates

Paul J. De Massi, AIA NCARB PP, is President and CEO of Paul J. De Massi AIA and Associates, a multidisciplined architectural firm specializing in local, state and federal public contracts.In addition to his current position, De Massi is a commissioner and past president of the New Jersey State Board of Architects, a board member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, past president of the New Jersey Society of Architects of the American Institute of Architecture, past president of the New Jersey Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute and a past member of the Advisory Council of the School of Architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

De Massi is an avid DEBORAH supporter of many years, and has a particular interest in Children of the World®.De Massi is a United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he received the National Defense Medal, the United Nations Medal and the Korean Service Medal. He is a life member of AMVETS, and a member of the Knights of Columbus (fourth degree), Lyndhurst BPO Elks Lodge and the Catholic War Veterans.De Massi and his wife, Barbara, have four children and 10 grandchildren.De Massi was first appointed to DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors in 1999.“As a Board Member, I can benefit DEBORAH by continuing to give and participate in committee meetings and fundraising affairs, and by helping to promote DEBORAH as the premier heart and lung institute in its area,” stated De Massi. “To me, DEBORAH is a vehicle by which I can contribute whatever time and talents I may have to improve the lives and futures of others.”

SANDRA M. FEIN

(Sandi) was elected to the Board of Directors of the Deborah Hospital Foundation, as a representative of the Pennsylvania Region, at its annual meeting on May 18, 2005. Sandi has been an active member and volunteer fund-raiser for Deborah Heart and Lung Center and the Deborah Hospital Foundation for more than thirty years. She is President Emeritus of both the Pacesetters and the Children’s World Chapters of Deborah. Sandi continues to serve as a Life Member of the Pacesetters Chapter, where she actively co-chairs various fund-raising events. Sandi currently serves on the Board’s Mission and Board Responsibility Committees.

Sandi is also affiliated with Brecht Associates, Inc., a consulting group specializing in strategic planning and market research for the senior housing industry. She has more than 20 years experience in managing healthcare planning and marketing services on behalf of hospitals, healthcare systems, and public and non-profit healthcare corporations. 

Ms. Fein's diverse market research and strategic planning experience includes studies for numerous retirement, active adult, and assisted living communities, strategic planning for geriatric services, and development of certificate of need applications. Her background includes market and competitive analysis, project management, moderating focus groups, and business development. 

Sandi is a graduate of Temple University's Master's Degree Program in Health Care Management. She was also President of Temple University's Health Care Management Alumnae Association from 1998 to 2000. She is also a member of the Healthcare Planning and Marketing Society of New Jersey and the New Jersey Association of Non-profit Homes for the Aging.

TONI JANE FRAGAPANE

Toni Jane Fragapane has been involved with DEBORAH Hospital Foundation for over 30 years. A Life Member of the DEBORAH League of Staten Island and the Young Hearts (NY) Chapter, Ms. Fragapane has held several positions on the Executive Boards of both Chapters, as well as serving as the New York/New England Region’s Regional Chairperson.Ms. Fragapane is also a Member of the Cooley Anemia Foundation’s Staten Island Chapter and is a volunteer and liaison family member at the New Vanderbilt Rehabilitation and Care Center. Prior to retiring to be a caregiver for her parents, Ms. Fragapane was employed as a paralegal secretary for a major law firm specializing in trusts and estates.Ms. Fragapane lives in Staten Island, NY, and has one son, Michael.She was first appointed to DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Executive Board in 1999.

As a DEBORAH member for 30 years, I have seen many changes in the institution; the one thing that has never changed is the complete dedication of DEBORAH’s doctors, nurses and staff. STANLEY H. FRYCZYNSKI, JR.
President (Emeritus), DEBORAH Hospital Foundation
President (Retired), Fryczynski Funeral Home

Stanley H. Fryczynski, Jr. served as President of DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center and DEBORAH Hospital Foundation from 1980-1983 and again from 1986-1994. He is a Life Member and past President of DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Bayonne (NJ) Chapter. Mr. Fryczynski was first appointed to the DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors in 1975.

Among his major projects during his tenure as DEBORAH’s President was the promotion and growth of DEBORAH’s Children of the World® Program to international status. His tireless efforts in this and other areas led to success in projecting DEBORAH’s mission and image to the community.

Mr. Fryczynski has been honored many times for his commitment to humanitarian causes. In 1989, John Cardinal O’Connor invested him into the American Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. He also received the New Jersey Catholic War Veterans Home Award, the Policy University Club of New Jersey Man of the Year (1994) Award and the Legion of Honor Bronze Medallion from the Chapel of Four Chaplains. Mr. Fryczynski is a recipient of the Commander Order of Merit which is the highest distinction given by the Polish government to a non-Polish citizen. He was recognized as an Outstanding Citizen of Bayonne by the Boy Scouts of America and Distinguished Man of the Year by the NFL Players’ Association.

He was awarded an honorary doctorate of humane letters from St. Peter’s College of Jersey City, an honorary doctor of medicine from the Tbilisi Medical School of the Republic of Georgia and an honorary doctor of medicine from the Selesian Medical School of Katowice, Poland.

Mr. Fryczynski became the first US recipient of the Order of Smile given on behalf of the children of Poland for work done on their behalf and the first Crystal Heart Award, presented by Poland’s Cardiac Surgery Foundation for enhancing medicine and healthcare in Poland. He was also named Citizen of the Year by Polish American World Newspaper, and in 1983, Mr. Fryczynski was given a private audience with Pope John Paul II at the Vatican because of his involvement with the Polish children through DEBORAH’s Children of the World® Program. Mr. Fryczynski is the founder of Polish Children Heartline, Inc. He was recognized by the Democratic Republic of Georgia (former Soviet Republic) for his efforts to improve the health of children. Mr. Fryczynski was awarded the 75th Anniversary Independence Award presented by the Lithuanian American Community for providing care to the children of Lithuania. He also received the Grenada Distinguished Service Award on behalf of the children of Grenada. 

A lifetime resident of Bayonne, NJ, Mr. Fryczynski followed in his father’s footsteps and took over the Fryczynski Funeral Home in 1959. He is a member of the Hudson County, New Jersey State, and the National Association of Funeral Directors. His wife, Patricia O’Leski Fryczynski, has served as a Regional Chair of DEBORAH Hospital Foundation and is a Life Member and past President of the Bayonne Chapter. They have three sons, Stanley, Kevin, and Kerry and one daughter, Kelly. They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

“Over the years, DEBORAH’s mission has expanded, along with its facilities,” said Mr. Fryczynski. “Today, DEBORAH is a world-renowned, state-of-the-art center for cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine. DEBORAH’s growth has always been, and will always be, driven by the demand for excellent care. DEBORAH is very much a family unit with mutually supporting members, and as a family, we will continue to keep the spirit of philanthropic healthcare alive.”

ROBERT GANLEY
Vice President of the Sergeants Benevolent Association of the New York City Police Department.

The SBA represents approximately 5,000 active and 5,000 retired Sergeants from the NYPD.Mr. Ganley’s service to DEBORAH is invaluable. He has been raising funds and supporting DEBORAH since the beginning of the line organizations’ involvement in 1991, and now serves as a Co-Chairman for the line organizations’ biannual Special Event. The continuous growth of this event, which now encompasses all New York City Police and Fire organizations, is directly attributable to his involvement.Sergeant Ganley boasts a long career in law enforcement. In 1982, he was appointed to the NYC Transit Police Department, and, in 1988, promoted to the rank of Sergeant. One year later, Mr. Ganley was appointed Executive Secretary of the Transit Police SBA, and was reelected to that post in 1990. From 1991 to 1995, he served as Chairman of the Transit Police Superior Officers Variable Supplement Fund. In 1993, Mr. Ganley was elected President of the Transit Police SBA. As President, Mr. Ganley successfully negotiated a Collective Bargaining Agreement, and successfully sued the City of New York and its mayor for issues such as the 1127 Tax Lawsuit. His career spans more than 20 years.In addition to his service to DEBORAH, Mr. Ganley is a member of the NYPD Emerald Society, the NYPD Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, NYPD Honor Legion, State of New Jersey Police Honor Legion, Fraternal Order of Police, International Police Association, Long Island Shields, Transit Police Emerald Society and the Knights of Columbus.Mr. Ganley attended the State University of New York at Farmingdale and John Jay College, both for Criminal Justice. Bob resides in Nassau County, NY, with his wife and daughter.
ROY J. GAROFALO
President ROYZEE LLC

Roy Garofalo attended Brooklyn College in 1975. Prior to that, he attended Brooklyn Technical High School (1972). From 1981 to 1988, Roy was the President of Krissy Kasuals Ltd.; and then in 1988 to 2002 was the Vice President of Production for Fashion Avenue Knits. Presently, he runs his own Production Company and is known as a stalwart in his industry. Roy is extremely philanthropic and has been involved with the Kiwanis Club of Parkway East, serving on their Board of Directors from l988 to present. He has served as President and Secretary for numerous Terms. Roy developed an affinity to DEBORAH through his Industry's Annual Special Event and became an active Committee Member in December of 1997. In 1999, he brought his Industry's revenue to its highest peak in ten years and accepted the Chairmanship of this Annual Event.

Roy got married to his lovely wife Debbie on September 4, 1976 and has a daughter Dana who is 19, and a son Dean who is 11. He is a devoted husband and father and shares many varied interests with his family.
GERARD JORDAN
Co-Owner and Vice President, Jade Promotions and Marketing

Gerard Jordan is Co-Owner and Vice President of Jade Promotions and Marketing, a grocery marketing company. Mr. Jordan has received various awards throughout his career, including the B’nai B’rith Brotherhood Award, the Harlem Fair Employment Award and the Interfaith Award from the Catholic Institute of the Food Industry and the Harvest Lodge. DEBORAH Hospital Foundation also honored Mr. Jordan with the Man of the Year Award (Food Industry). Mr. Jordan is active in his community, organizing fundraisers for DEBORAH and other nonprofit organizations. He also served in the United States Navy during World War II.

With his wife, Eileen, Mr. Jordan resides in Rockville Centre, NY. They share 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Mr. Jordan was first appointed to DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors in June 1998.“With more hospitals seeking cardiac surgery programs, DEBORAH faces competition in the future,” stated Mr. Jordan. “But with the quality of its service, staff and leadership, DEBORAH’s future looks bright. DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center will continue to be one of the best.”

MICHAEL J. KLINE, ESQ.

Michael J. Kline has served as General Counsel for DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center and DEBORAH Hospital Foundation since 1979. He is also a Partner in Fox Rothschild LLP, Princeton, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA, where he is Chairman of the firm’s Corporate Department, a member of its Executive Committee and a member of the Healthcare Group. Mr. Kline also serves as counsel for hospitals, nonprofit foundations and retirement homes and is experienced in assisting clients in handling the overlapping business, financial and legal issues confronting businesses and nonprofit entities.Mr. Kline’s community activities are varied. He is past president and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Geriatric Home in Cherry Hill, NJ. Mr. Kline has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and Congregation Beth El of Cherry Hill, NJ. He serves as a public member of the Advisory Graduate Medical Education Council of New Jersey.

Mr. Kline and his wife, Tammy, both of who are Life Members of DEBORAH Hospital Foundation, reside in Cherry Hill, NJ.Mr. Kline served on the Board from 1972 through 1980, after which he was named General Counsel to the Boards.“I have been privileged to be associated with DEBORAH for over 30 years. I served on the Boards of the Center and the Foundation, and was an original incorporator when the Foundation was officially established in 1974. My years of experience and sense of DEBORAH history and mission gives me what I believe is a unique perspective to serve the Center in the many challenges ahead,” stated Mr. Kline. “DEBORAH must stay at the cutting edge of technology and retain highly skilled professionals, while at the same time maintaining financial viability and continuing its historic mission of rendering specialized care of the highest quality without regard to the ability of patients to pay for its services.”

LYNN B. McGRATH, MD
Vice President of Medical Affairs for DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center,
Chairman of DEBORAH’s Department of Surgery and Director of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Program

Appointed Attending Surgeon at DEBORAH in 1985, Dr. McGrath was named Department Chair in 1989.  He performs an average of 500 open-heart surgeries annually, and has performed approximately 10,300 open-heart surgeries throughout his DEBORAH career. The Surgical Director of DEBORAH’s Children of the World Program, Dr. McGrath has operated on 1,400 children from 91 countries around the world. Through Children of the World, Dr. McGrath has performed open-heart surgery on children during medical missions to the former Soviet Republic of Georgia and Lithuania.

Dr. McGrath has introduced various minimally invasive techniques for heart surgery and vein harvesting at DEBORAH, including minimally invasive heart surgery using Port Access, which was performed for the first time in New Jersey by Dr. McGrath in 1997. He also has extensive experience in teaching and has conducted significant research in his specialty areas, having made more than 150 presentations nationally and internationally, and authoring over 100 scientific papers and chapters for medical textbooks.

A graduate of Memorial University Medical School, St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, Dr. McGrath received post-graduate training in surgery at McGill University, Montreal. He continued his surgical studies in Boston at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Appointed Arthur Tracy Cabot Fellow in Surgery and Instructor in Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Dr. McGrath was named Chief Surgical Resident and Assistant to the Surgeon-in-Chief in 1981. He was also appointed to the staff of Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. McGrath pursued his training in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, where he completed ha subspecialty in pediatric cardiac surgery in 1984. He was also an Instructor in Surgery and Chief Resident in Cardiovascular Surgery and Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Alabama.

Dr. McGrath began his career at DEBORAH in 1985, as an Attending Surgeon and Director of Pediatric Surgery.  By 1989, he was Chair of the Department of Surgery. In 1999, he was also elected Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chair of the Medical Staff.

In 2006, Dr. McGrath surpassed his 10,000th open-heart surgery procedure – achieving a professional milestone that gives him entrée into an elite group of cardiothoracic surgeons worldwide. This milestone is an accomplishment that most heart institutions have only achieved through the collective efforts of a combined staff of heart surgeons. Dr. McGrath’s practice includes success in healing all ages with a variety of heart conditions. About 50% of his surgeries performed since 1985, are coronary bypasses. Another 20% are acquired and valve-related heart conditions and the remaining 30% are complex congenital repairs in either adults or children.

When asked how he can benefit DEBORAH as a Board member, Dr. McGrath responded, “I bring a clinician’s sensibilities to the table, reflecting the realties of practicing medicine today. I am entrusted with translating the value of quality care to the Board decision-making. SAMUEL A. NALBONE, JR
Founder, President and CEO, RXVP, Inc.

Samuel A. Nalbone, Jr., is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer for RXVP, a telecommunications firm located in Chester, PA, which focuses on developing health services to improve patient compliance with prescription medicine. Mr. Nalbone has extensive healthcare experience to contribute to DEBORAH Hospital Foundation, with over 20 years of senior management experience in the United States and overseas. Prior to founding RXVP, Inc., Mr. Nalbone was the Senior Vice President for Orthovita, Inc., an early-stage bone biomaterial company that completed a successful IPO in the 2nd quarter of 1998. Mr. Nalbone was raised in Haddon Township, NJ, and traveled the world on assignments with the 3M Company for 15 years before returning to the Delaware Valley in 1995. During a 5-year assignment in Japan for 3M Health Care, Ltd., Mr. Nalbone served as Chairman of the Medical Device and In-vitro Diagnostic Products Subcommittee to the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan and led negotiations concerning medical device import legislation with the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare. A member of the Health Industry Manufacturers Association (HIMA) and the Business Leaders Network, Mr. Nalbone is also a Life Member of the DEBORAH Hospital Foundation, Pennsylvania Region, and President of the Treyburn Community Association Board of Directors. He currently resides in Wayne, PA, with his wife Christine (Menzenski), and their five children: Eric, Jacqueline, Michael, Nicholas and Samuel A., III.
DOMINICK PUGLIESE

Dominick Pugliese is a recent retiree with nearly 40 years of business experience. Most recently, Mr. Pugliese spent 15 years as the sole proprietor of his own management consulting firm, with corporate clients ranging from AT&T to Revlon. Mr. Pugliese also served as an executive with other corporations, such as: Director, MIS Development and Administration, Sony Records; Director, Information Technology, Kidder Peabody; Director, H/R, Pierce Technology; and Director, Operations/Application Systems, Warner Computer Systems. Many of these assignments bore profit and loss responsibility. Mr. Pugliese also boasts lifelong experience in information systems, operations reengineering and corporate coaching.

Mr. Pugliese holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, which he earned from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, NY, and was certified as a Project Manager at AT&T Corporation. He is also a Certified Systems professional and has been trained in Corporate Systems Assessment and Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, Certification Procedures.Mr. Pugliese has worked in volunteer activities for DEBORAH Hospital Foundation for seven years, and has served with distinction as the President of the Colonia Chapter. He has also donated his time and efforts to JFK Hospital Volunteers, Habitat for Humanity, The Friends of Metuchen Library and the American Italian Civic League of Middlesex County.Mr. Pugliese has been married for 28 years to Anita Pugliese, who is the current President of DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Colonia Chapter. The Pugliese's have four children, four grandchildren and reside in Metuchen, NJ.Mr. Pugliese was first elected to DEBORAH Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors in 2004.“
JOHN D. QUINLAN
Financial Advisor with the Principal Financial Group

John D. Quinlan boasts a 20-year career in the financial industry, currently serving as a Financial Advisor for the Principal Financial Group. Prior to his employment with Principal Financial Group, Quinlan served as Assistant Vice President of Elders Financial Group, Vice President and Partner of Prestige Metals Trading Co., President, Broker, Trader and Owner of Chelsea Futures Trading Company, Vice President of Sales for Bejar Investment LTD in Hong Kong, and President of Belmont Management LTD in Hong Kong. Quinlan, before beginning his career in finance, was a teacher for six years.Quinlan has a long-standing commitment to DEBORAH, serving many years as a volunteer and Life Member of the DEBORAH League of Staten Island (NY/NE).Quinlan received his Master of Education from Wagner College, Staten Island, NY, and his Bachelor of Science from Springfield College, Springfield, MA. PAUL J. STENDARDI
Director of Terminals and Transportation, Getty Petroleum Marketing Inc.

Paul Stendardi's career in the petroleum industry started with Humble Oil & Refining Company (Esso) in 1968 after serving in the U.S. Army, which included a tour of duty in Germany and Vietnam. Mr. Stendardi started with Esso as a non-regular heating oil driver, which was a job expected to last three months. After ten years in various operations positions with Exxon (Esso's successor), he joined Metropolitan Petroleum Company in 1979 as terminal manager of its Jersey City facility. In 1984, when Ultramar owned the Company, Mr. Stendardi joined a project team to replace the company's in-house computer system with a new turnkey solution. Mr. Stendardi joined Getty Petroleum Marketing Inc. as Director of Terminals and Transportation in September of 1988, and oversees the Company's terminals and trucking operations. Today, Getty is one of the Nation's largest independent marketers of petroleum products. The Company markets gasoline through a chain of over 2,000 retail stations in a thirteen-state area, from Maine to Virginia under the brand names of Getty, LUKOil and Mobil. Getty also owns a home heating oil company located in mid-Hudson, NY. In addition, Getty is a wholesale marketer of gasoline and distillates. Mr. Stendardi has been supporting DEBORAH for over ten years, and now serves as a Committee Member of the United Service Workers, IUJAT Annual Fundraising Event. Paul resides in South Hackensack with his wife Valerie. They have three married children, and three beautiful grandchildren.
BURTON C. TREBOUR
President-Trebour Consulting Services, LLC

Mr. Trebour is presently an Arbitrator with the New Jersey State Board of Mediation and an Arbitrator with the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Committee. Mr. Trebour was the former Vice President of Labor and Administration for the A-P-A Transportation Corporation, North Bergen, NJ. Mr. Trebour was responsible for the entire Labor and Human Relations functions for A-P-A Transportation Corporation and it’s 2,000 employees. Mr. Trebour was a member of the National Grievance Committee in conjunction with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He is the Employer Co-Chairman for the International Association of Machinists National Pension Fund; a Trustee of the Teamsters Local 617, Welfare and Pension Funds and he is both Employer Trustee and Co-Chairman of the I.A.M. Local 447 Fringe Benefit Fund and Machinists Money Purchase Pension Fund.

Mr. Trebour has long been involved in community affairs in Hudson County. He is past President of the United Way of Hudson County and remains on the Executive Board. Mr. Trebour is presently President of United Cerebral Palsy of Hudson County. In 1989, DEBORAH awarded him the DEBORAH Hospital Foundation Children of the World® Humanitarian Award. Mr. Trebour is a member of the American Society for Personal Administration and the International Foundation of Employee Benefits and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He resides in Monroe Township, NJ with his wife Maureen. He has three children and four grandchildren.
GERTRUDE BONATTI ZOTTA
Chair Emeritus, Deborah Heart and Lung Center and Deborah Hospital Foundation

Gertrude Bonatti-Zotta was the first woman to be elected to serve as Chairman of the Board for both the Executive Board of DEBORAH Heart and Lung Center and the Board of Directors of DEBORAH Hospital Foundation in 1994, a position she held with pride until her retirement in 2004. Ms. Bonatti-Zotta has served DEBORAH Hospital Foundation since 1954, both as a volunteer and a staff member. As a volunteer, she was instrumental in the organization of 13 DEBORAH chapters. She is the Founder, President Emeritus and Life Member of the Bordentown (NJ) Chapter and the Pacesetters Chapter in Pennsylvania, and a Life Member of the Collingswood (NJ) Area Chapter. Ms. Bonatti-Zotta joined DEBORAH’s professional fundraising staff in 1969 as Director of the Pennsylvania Region, and was appointed Director of Chapter Services in 1984. In 1988, she returned to the Pennsylvania Region to again serve as Director until her retirement in 1990. Under her leadership, the Region reached its $1 million goal in 1983 and raised $2.5 million in 1989.

Ms. Bonatti-Zotta has been active in numerous community organizations, chairing community drives for the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and the United Way. She has received many awards and honors, including the Lady of Distinction and Meritorious Service Awards from DEBORAH Hospital Foundation; a testimonial for her fundraising activities for the American Heart Association; a listing in WHO’S WHO IN AMERICA and WHO’S WHO IN THE WORLD; the President’s Award, Peter Muschell PTA and the President’s Award from the Pre-School Mother’s Club. Ms. Bonatti-Zotta was also the first woman elected to the governing body of the Township of Bordentown, NJ.
